Carl Bruce Muirhead of Riverview, NB passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 83. He was the only child of the late Robert and Ariel (Skidmore) Muirhead. He was born in Parrsboro, NS and grew up in New Glasgow, NS. Bruce served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1957-1959, after which he pursued biblical studies at EPBC, and then completed his Master’s degree and became a teacher for many years. At the age of 40 he left his home province to minister as a pastor in Quebec for over two decades. During this time he was also director of Welcome Hall Mission in Montreal and served as padre for the Royal Canadian Navy. Bruce was a charismatic public speaker in churches, universities and conferences both in Canada and overseas, teaching effective strategy in evangelism. His last years in ministry were peppered with travels to North Africa and Europe where he shared the Gospel and distributed Bibles. He loved history and interacting with different cultures, leading him to acquire proficiency in 5 languages. He was a thinker and loved to exchange ideas with others. He authored two books, Credible 101 and Amir S’Salaam. He will be remembered for his strong passion for sharing the Gospel and opening his heart and home to anyone in need. Whether it was through missionary outreach to North Africa or northern Quebec indigenous populations or roaming the halls of the local mall, he was always looking for ways to reach people with the love of God. His enthusiasm challenged believers to a deeper, more meaningful life in Christ. He exemplified hard work and perseverance in everything he did, always looking for opportunities to multiply what he had in order to benefit his impact on the world. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Marie-Claire (Roy); daughter, Lynne-Marie (Favreau) and her husband, André Favreau of Riverview; three grandchildren, Caleb Favreau (Lara Gouger) of QC, Nathaniel and Jude Favreau both of Riverview; one great-grandchild, Evelyn June Favreau.
