Obituary of Danny McEachreon

Danny McEachreon, of Moncton, NB; passed away peacefully at his residence with his family at his side on Monday, May 08, 2023 after a courageous battle against cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Mark and Rita (McLeod) McEachreon. Danny retired in October 2013 from the Province of NB (Anglophone East School District) after 32 years of service having worked at various schools including Queen Elizabeth School and many others during his career. Danny was also a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the City of Moncton for over 28 years and was in the last group of volunteers until the abolishment of the department. He was very proud to be part of this organization. He helped build the Ronald McDonald Fire Safety House and was always first to volunteer to show the kids how to get out of a burning building and to also devote hours of his time during Fire Prevention Week and the Santa Claus Parade. After his retirement, he took on a part-time job with the City of Moncton at the Moncton Coliseum as an usher for hockey games, trade shows, concerts, etc… It was a great way for him to stay connected with the public and more of a social thing for him than work. Then in 2018, Danny and his wife became involved with Dream Vacation Tours where he truly enjoyed his role as "The Water Boy" on the tours and loved meeting great people along the way. Danny and his son Mark enjoying four-wheeling together and made great memories. He also loved to travel, going to places like Massachusetts, New York City, Tennessee, Las Vegas. His retirement trip was a cruise to Alaska while visiting The Rockies along the way and then spending a week with his dear friend John in Vancouver. Danny loved spending his summers at the campground in the Baie de Bouctouche for the past 13 years. Friends and family were very important to him. There were lots of good parties had and he sure knew how to cook lobster! He was a pretty quiet kind of guy, but was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed it around the campground. Everyone always knew that if they needed something, chances are Danny had the tool they needed in his shed. He also had his faithful furry companion Harley by his side for 12 years and they were inseparable. A loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 41 years Maria (Arseneau) McEachreon; his son, Mark McEachreon; one sister, Anne Raphael (the late Alan) of Toronto; two brothers: Keith McEachreon of Moncton and Gary McEachreon (Lucie) of Dieppe; also by his brothers-in-law: Jules Arseneau, Charlie (Paulette) Arseneau; Daniel (Jackie) Arseneau and Louis Richard (the late Ruth Wood) of Allison.
