Obituary of E. May Sherwood

May Sherwood, 80, formerly of Turtle Creek, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was born in Montreal, PQ, and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lorraine Lutes. She retired after 24 years of service from food and hospitality at Hotel Beausejour Moncton. May was a life member of both Royal Canadian Legion Br. #6 Moncton and the Ladies Auxiliary Branch #6. She is survived by three daughters, Esther Roberts (Fred), Lorraine Challes (Jim) and Connie MacEachern (Wesley); two sons, Dwayne (Joanne) and Charlie (the late Eva); ten grandchildren, Fred, Aaron, Michael (Krista), Scott, Kyle (Marley), Jason (Brittany), Andrew, Nick (Melanie), Spencer and Leneah; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister Barb Libby (Rolly); three brothers, Lorne, Billy and Peter; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Sherwood in 1997, by sisters, Jean, Irene, and Lorraine and by brothers, Purdy, Nelson, Fred, and Ken. Honouring May's wishes there is no visitation or funeral service at the funeral home. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10am to 12 noon to Celebrate and Honour the Life of May Sherwood, it will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch 6, 100 Veteran's Ave. Moncton. Interment will be in Dawson Settlement Baptist Church Cemetery, Dawson Settlement immediately following the celebration of life. Donations in May's memory made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 Moncton would be appreciated by her family.
