Obituary of Sharon Joan Carson

Sharon Carson, 75 of Riverview, NB.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Carson Oct 10th, at Albert House in Moncton, NB.

Born in New Glasgow, NS, one of 12 children of the late Adam and Edith Halliday. Sharon is survived by her sisters Kay, Linda, Heather, Dory, and Colleen, and by her brothers Edgar and Kevin. Sharon grew up and attended primary and secondary school in Eastern Passage, NS.  She then attended the NS Community College in Halifax, NS.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses Sharon decided in her youth to make the Christian ministry the focus of her life. So, she spent a great deal of time calling on people in the community, assisting them to understand the Bible. She worked part time to support herself. In 1968 she was asked to help with the work in the province of Quebec, so she learned the French language and along with several others was assigned to the Quebec City area. In 1971 she married Doug Carson and together spent they spent four years on the Gaspe coast sharing the Bible’s message with the people of the communities along the southern coast of the peninsula. In 1973 their son Joel was born followed by their daughter Celine in 1975 and daughter Heather in 1976. In 1975 they relocated to Moncton and raised their family there. In 2001 Sharon and her husband moved to Europe where they enjoyed teaching Bible truths to many. Sharon also worked part time for many years in the family business in Moncton, looking after the accounting duties.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff of the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program who were very kind and attentive to Sharon. They are to be commended for the fine work they do.

A memorial service will be held for Sharon at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 25 War Veterans Dr., Moncton NB on October 28th at 2:00 pm.
